Marian F. Moratinos portrait by Beatriz Polo

I am a Spanish illustrator and artist based in London with a background in Fine Arts and Animation

(University of Valencia and Central Saint Martin's - London).

Influenced by analogue processes and a love for photography, I use a mixture of hand-drawing, print, mark making and digital photo collage to create fresh and colourful artworks with a silk-screen print aesthetic that take the form of mixed media originals, limited edition screen-prints and digital illustrations.

I often carry my camera around and I tend to start my compositions using photographs I take of people, nature and urban spaces. Inspiration comes from travel, architecture, the diversity of the human landscape and my concern about the environmental issues we are facing.

My illustration work is focused towards editorial, publishing and advertising having worked on animated TV series, educational short films, book covers, digital and print magazines. I always enjoy the challenge of exploring the broad range of topics that editorial commissions offer.

I have also exhibited my artwork internationally in numerous exhibitions, art fairs and galleries and have been pleased to take part in fund raising events creating site specific work for different clients and organisations.

Clients include:

Barnard College, Honest History, Bentley Motors, Resurgence & Ecologist, Breathe, TeenBreathe, Glug, Popshot, Bloom in Doom, Gibbs Smith, NHS, Bupa, Nokia, Rafa Nadal Foundation, University of Balearic Islands, [M] TV, Action Duchenne, DKV, Facebook and The National Gallery among others.
